Our Story
Sowing dreams, cultivating connections.
We arrived in 2021. The land was already generous — fruit trees everywhere, good water, abundance. None of that was our doing: it came from those who cared for this land before us. It was a purchase, but it always felt like a gift.
What was missing was the basics. Water and electricity barely reached the place, and that is where we had to start — with the things nobody sees. Then came the pool, and with it Akwatica. Then the community centre, where people meet. Last came ZUZ, the movement school. Each space grew out of a dream someone here had; nothing was planned all at once, each thing appeared when someone wanted it to exist.

Seedlings were among the first things to go into the ground, before much of the building. A tree takes its time and there is no rushing it: if we had waited for everything else to be ready before planting, we would still be waiting. More than a thousand seedlings of fruit and native trees, and a nursery that reached five thousand. We sold some and gave others away — to the town council and to public bodies. Many of the trees now growing far from here came out of this soil. The nursery is smaller today, and it continues.
Vita Park is a family community. The visitor area — Akwatica, ZUZ and the community centre — is separate from where we live. You are welcomed into our home, with a space of your own.
How we look after this place
We separate waste into nine streams: hard plastic, soft plastic, styrofoam, glass, paper, aluminium, metal, tetrapak and landfill. Food scraps go to the worm bin and come back as compost. The vegetable garden is organic, with no chemical pesticides.
